Calathea Makoyana "Peacock Plant" (also known as "Cathedral Windows"), is a beautiful houseplant with tropical origins being native to Brazil. Its large, rounded, thin leaves are held up by upright, slender stems, with the leaves themselves having a striking leaf pattern consisting of asymetrical dark green stripes and lines within a pale green background. Calathea's leaves can also adopt purple-red hues and, in character to the prayer plant family, fold up in the evening.
Calathea Makoyana "Peacock Plant" requires a little more attention and care than other houseplants. Bright, indirect sunlight is suggested, along with frequent watering, making sure to water once the top of the soil is dry again. Maintain soil moistness and high humidity levels to keep plant healthy and happy.
